Designed using commercial software such as Trackair, the flight planning ensures optimum imagery coverage. Positions of the flight lines and photo centers are recorded and downloaded to the AEROcontrol system in the aircraft. This information is also used in the CCNS4 navigation system and both the pilot and camera operator can view the designed lines during imagery capture. Once the imagery has been captured, flight planning is checked to ensure there are no gaps in the imagery.

We are using the Leica Photogrammetry Suite (LPS) software for most triangulation and mapping applications.
The package is a collection of software tools that transforms raw imagery into reliable data layers required for all digital mapping, GIS analysis and 3D visualization.

We are using many of the sensor in mining applications including imagery from both the large format camera and 22mega pixel camera, full wave form Lidar for accurate DTM’s, Contours and Volumetric calculations and VNIR and SWIR hyperspectral sensors for environmental and surface geology analysis.

The thermal camera technology is primarily based on military developments and have been used in Europe for thermal monitoring over the past year.  These cameras have recently become the first freely available sensors outside of military use supporting such high frame rates with a size of 640 by 512 pixels. These precision sensors can detect thermal differences of better than 0.02 Kelvin whilst maintaining a short integration time. Such characteristics allow the system to be used for aerial survey work. Installed with a high end GPS/INS system to rectify the data these thermal images can finally be produced into an orthographically-rectified mosaic.
