There is a clear indication from the OGP Industry that the requirement for such specialized services will become more frequent in the Future. Central and West Africa Contract Work on the increase

With Bay Air's focus, for part of its fleet, on the contract market. It has been hard to notice that there seems to be no major sign of the 'global recession' noticed elsewhere.

- we have been able to secure another two medium term contracts in the past 3 months with other contracts still in the pipeline -

Bay Air currently has aircraft serving in a variety of African theaters and has recently joined forces with various local operators to provide the "holistic service approach" that seems to be the trademark of modern contract work. From internal sources it has been said than a further extension of the current fleet is been discussed in order to satisfy the current demand.

CITYLINK - an era is coming to an end.

BAY AIR is to suspend their scheduled passenger service between Windhoek Eros and Walvis Bay as from the 19th of February. "Spiralling operational cost are to blame here, the average person on the street just cannot justify spending that sort of money on an airline ticket - although passenger loads are good we would have to increase ticket prices by as much as 40% in order for us just to cut break even." It is with great regret that this announcement was made earlier in the week by the Bay Air Management, the aircraft used on the route will be absorbed into Bay Air's extensive Turbine charter fleet and will be available for ad-hoc Charters and Contract work.

Bay Air opening up tourist branch in Swakopmund...

Bay Air will be opening their Swakopmund branch in time for this years tourist season. It is believed that the demand for turbine aircraft in the tourist industry has dramatically increased in Namibia. Been far more reliable and been more economical on a " seat/mile " basis a dedicated Cessna Grand Caravan will be made available allowing up to 12 tourists to take an unforgetable flight over the oldest dunes in the world.
